Only the racist pigs think of black woman as 'slave woman'. (I'm proud to NOT know anyone who thinks this way.) I doubt anyone thought that they had no beauty.
Given the high incidence of rape, I'd say a bunch of white people who tried to justify their actions clearly appreciated black beauty but naturally wouldn't admit it.
(Rather two faced though - wasn't it, tried to do all the segrating stuff but yet somehow rape was just fine . . . Actually I read some 'memoir' from about 300-500 years ago and they spoke about how wealthy woman were to be pampered and what have you, but poor woman well . . . that was another story entirely - no respect from them.)

True. Sometimes rape is misdirected attraction, sometimes it's violence. Well, let's see if finally most of the white world will acknowledge our beauty. There are still a lotta folks out there who have ethnocentric standards of beauty. -C
I had forgotten about the violence aspect of rape -good point.
One thing I found really scary, before the elections a local radio station (Jam'n 94.5) for the 'fun of it' interviewed some Neo type Nazi hate group - oh were they scary. They had their own president elect to vote for (forgot his name) with the plan that they'd send all non anglo whites back to their 'home countries'. One of the DJ's was of latino decent (born here) and was joking about wanting to join the group but the Nazi guy said he'd have to go back 'home' and he could join there!
I hope the government guards Obama and his family like no other president before him.
Also, people are BRUTAL with insults against the first family. Remember the mean comments made about Chelsie Clintons braces? Comedians really push the line when they attack children! I was not impressed.
Obama is a great guy, he could do wonders for this country.
Dare I hope that some racist people might see what a great leader and human being he is that they might change their tune? Oh wouldn't that be wonderful.
Often time (or is it always) racism is based and grounded in ignorance.
Back to looks - have you heard that they compare Michelle with Jacqualine Kennedy. People flock to the stores to buy some of the outfits she wears. AND she even wears affordable clothing.
The good thing is that I don't see many racists around where I live. But I have seen those neo-nazi types on television and folks who are subtly racist...like some folks on celebrity shows. Oh, they don't say racist stuff but one can tell if one recognizes it.
The Neo-Nazis have to recognize that more Americans are non-northern-european white than not. And in 15 years the majority of the population will be what was once termed the minorities.
I want everyone to get along. I live life multiculturally. So I often end up seeing all sides of a question. I understand how folks can feel they are being crowded out by other minorities but honestly, after a while we're all Americans and skin color shouldn't matter as much as it does to these folks.
I think Obama is good because there's a multiculturality to him. He is a true centrist in politics and color. But on the other hand, he's pro-abortion and pro-death penalty. And I'm against both. Hey, no politician is perfect.
Yes, mercifully, Michelle dresses well. Lord help us if she dressed as badly as I do. -C
